Slow Down Therapy {5}

            Besides the noble art of getting things done,
            there is the noble art of leaving things undone.
            The wisdom of life consists in the elimination of nonessentials.

 Next week is our final post in the Slow Down Therapy Series so be sure not to miss it. If you'd like to hear more or are interested in booking a Slow Down Therapy session we'd love to hear from you. Just click the link below to schedule your appointment:

Slow Down Therapy: {2)

"Set your own pace. When someone is pushing you, its OKAY to tell them they're pushing."

     Sometimes out of a desire to avoid hurting others feelings we go into explanations as to why we can't get together. When did we begin believing that we are supposed to meet everyone's needs for connection? That's a rather tall order to fill. I watch people do this at the coffee shop, hear them on the phone, and catch myself with an explanation rolling right off my tongue before I can stop myself.

     What are some responses that you use, when someone is pressuring you to do something (i.e. hang out, go to a movie, come over for dinner (Mothers!) and you really just feel like doing something else?

Slow Down Therapy: {1}

"Remember a happy, peaceful time in your past. Rest there. Each moment has a richness that takes a lifetime to savor."

{Welcome}

    WELCOME!

Welcome to SUNSHINE RIVER COTTAGE! This is a setting that was fashioned from a deep longing in my heart for serenity, calm, contentment, and balance, wholeness, growth, and okay pretty much everything good and lovely and beautiful. I decided to create it on the web mainly so that more people could stop by and at any time of day. You might even find me in my PJs.

Feel free to stop in any time you are very welcome here, and we'd love to hear your thoughts, share in your own discoveries, favorite quotes, stories... If you'd like to bring cookies or some form of sweets that would be JUST FINE by me, I love chocolate (whispered). Please, kick off your shoes and stay a while.

To start things off we'll  be beginning a series on the one thing I find hardest to do… Slowing Down. I've adapted it from a small booklet I found by Linus Mundy entitled Slow Down Therapy. I admit I found this gem while perusing the used book store. (One of my favorite places to find an adventure.)

So without further ado lets hurry up and get to slowing down.
